Every product on the Sølvi shelf earns its spot because one of our stylists uses it behind the chair first. Momo Conditioner by Davines is one we reach for constantly, especially once Boise hits that long stretch of dry, high-desert air that pulls moisture out of hair faster than most clients realize. These are our working notes on it: what it does well, where it fits, and the one client it is not the right call for.
What it actually is
Momo Conditioner is a daily hydrating conditioner built around yellow melon extract, a lightweight moisture ingredient. The whole point of this formula is hydration for dry or dehydrated hair without the heavy, coated feeling that a lot of moisture conditioners leave behind. It is meant for hair that feels thirsty, looks dull, and drinks up product. In a city like Boise where the humidity rarely cooperates, that describes most of the heads we touch in a given week.
How we use it in the studio
We keep this one simple. After shampooing, work it through mid-lengths and ends, leave it a minute or two, then rinse. It is gentle enough for daily use, which matters for clients who wash often or who train and shower more than the average person. We tell people to focus it where the dryness lives, usually the bottom two thirds of the hair, and go light at the scalp. That keeps roots from looking flat between washes.
Who it is for
If your hair feels rough by the afternoon, frizzes the second you step outside, or never seems to hold onto moisture through an Idaho winter, this is the conditioner we point you toward. It plays well with color-treated and porous hair, which tends to lose water quickly. We also like it for clients who travel a lot, because the routine is so forgiving. You can find the full lineup on the Momo Conditioner product page.
The honest drawback
Here is where we stay straight with you. Momo is a moisture conditioner, so it is not the right pick for everyone. If you have very fine hair that goes limp and greasy fast, daily use can weigh you down and flatten your volume. Those clients usually do better with a lighter formula or with Momo used only once or twice a week on the ends. It is also not a clarifying or detox product, so if your real issue is product buildup, this will not solve that. We would rather tell you that up front than have you fight your hair at home.
Sizes and pricing
We carry three sizes so you can match it to how you live. The travel size at 2.5 fl oz runs $17 and is perfect for a carry-on or a gym bag. The standard 8.45 fl oz bottle is $42 and is the everyday size most of our clients take home. If you go through conditioner fast or share a bathroom, the liter at 33.8 fl oz is $102 and ends up the better value over time. We are happy to help you decide at the studio.
The Sølvi take
Momo Conditioner is a steady, no-drama hydrator that earns its keep in our dry climate. It is not flashy, and that is exactly why we trust it. For the right hair, it does the quiet work of keeping things soft and manageable day after day. If you want a second opinion on whether it fits your hair, that is what we are here for.
