Finding Us in Downtown Boise
We're located at 104 S Capitol Blvd, Suite 200, right in the heart of downtown Boise. The "Suite 200" part is important. We're on the second floor, so when you arrive at the building, head upstairs to find us. It's a loft space, and yes, it's worth the extra flight of stairs.
If you're driving in from outside downtown, Capitol Boulevard is one of the main north-south streets. You really can't miss it. Look for the building at 104 S Capitol and come on up.
Parking Downtown
Let's talk about the thing everyone worries about: parking in downtown Boise. It's honestly not bad. There are metered street spots along Capitol Blvd and the surrounding blocks. The city parking garages on Capitol and Main are close by and affordable for a couple of hours. If you're coming during a weekday afternoon, street parking is usually pretty easy to find. On busier evenings or weekends, the garages are your best bet. Give yourself an extra five to ten minutes so you're not rushing, and you'll be fine.
Walking In for the First Time
Here's the part people don't expect. When you walk into Sølvi, it doesn't feel like a typical salon. The space is a second-floor loft with big windows and a ton of natural light. The design is Scandinavian-inspired, so think clean lines, warm tones, and a calm atmosphere. No loud music blasting. No chaos. It feels more like walking into a really well-designed living room than a hair salon.
You'll be greeted right away. We're not the kind of place where you stand around wondering if anyone knows you're there. Grab a seat, settle in, and we'll get you started.
The Consultation: We Actually Listen
Every first visit starts with a consultation, and we take it seriously. Your stylist will sit down with you and ask real questions. What do you love about your hair right now? What's driving you crazy? What's your routine like at home? How much time do you actually spend styling in the morning?
This isn't a five-second glance before we start mixing color. We want to understand what you're going for and what's realistic for your lifestyle. If something won't work the way you're imagining it, we'll tell you honestly and help you find a better path to get the result you actually want.
This is also where reference photos come in handy. Pull up pictures on your phone of what you're hoping for. Screenshots from Instagram, Pinterest boards, even photos of yourself from a time when you loved your hair. All of it helps. And please, be honest about your hair history. If you've been using box dye, had a keratin treatment, or bleached your hair at home six months ago, we need to know. No judgment at all. It just helps us take the right approach and avoid surprises.
How Long Will It Take?
This depends on what you're having done, so here are some general timeframes to help you plan your day.
- Haircut and style: About 45 minutes to 1 hour
- Single-process color with cut: Around 1.5 to 2 hours
- Highlights or balayage: Plan for 2 to 3 hours, sometimes a bit longer depending on the look
- Hair extensions (install): 2 to 4 hours depending on the method and amount of hair
- Color corrections: These vary a lot. We'll give you a time estimate during your consultation.
If you're not sure, just ask when you book. We'd rather you block off enough time than feel rushed.
All-Inclusive Pricing (No Surprise Charges)
This is something we feel strongly about. When we quote you a price, that's the price. Period. Your service includes everything: the gloss, the toner, the blowout and style at the end. We don't tack on extra charges for things that should just be part of a great hair appointment.
You'll never sit in the chair, say yes to a gloss your stylist recommended, and then find out at checkout that it was an extra $45. That doesn't happen here. The price you're quoted is the price you pay. Simple.
What to Bring and What to Know
For your first visit, here's a quick checklist:
- Reference photos. The more, the better. Even "I don't want this" photos are helpful.
- Your honest hair history. Previous color, chemical treatments, heat damage. All of it matters.
- A realistic idea of your daily routine. We'll style your hair in a way that you can actually maintain at home.
- A little extra time. Especially for your first visit. The consultation adds a few minutes, and it's worth it.
You don't need to wash your hair beforehand. Come as you are.
The Products We Use (and Why)
We work with Davines, an Italian brand that's serious about quality and sustainability. Their products are effective without being harsh, and they smell incredible. If you've never heard of Davines, you're in for a treat. We chose this line because it aligns with how we approach hair care: do it well, keep it clean, don't cut corners.
If you fall in love with something your stylist uses during your appointment, just ask. We carry Davines products in the salon so you can keep up the results at home.
Payment and Tipping
We accept all major credit cards and debit cards. Tipping is always appreciated but never expected. If you'd like to tip, you can add it to your card payment or leave cash. The standard in the industry is typically 15 to 20 percent, but truly, there's no pressure.
